(Washington, D.C.) – President Trump announced on Truth Social that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will serve as the interim of NASA. The former congressman, reality-TV personality, and Fox Business host said he was “honored to accept this mission.”
In May, Trump pulled the nomination of private astronaut and billionaire Jared Isaacman – an Elon Musk ally – citing concerns over Isaacman’s political donations and potential conflicts related to Musk’s business ties. Sources say the change may have contributed to the falling-out between Musk and Trump.
This change arguably marks a politically-charged reshuffling at NASA.
