(New York, NY) – Manhattanhenge is a breathtaking phenomenon that happens just several times a year, when the setting sun perfectly aligns with Manhattan’s east-west streets, creating a spectacular sunset view framed by the city’s skyscrapers.
This natural event typically occurs on two days in May and again on two days in July. For the best view, head to streets with a clear westward view of the horizon— popular spots include 14th Street, 23rd Street, 34th Street, 42nd Street, and 79th Street.
Here are the dates and times for Manhattanhenge this July:
Full Sun: Friday, July 11 at 8:20 PM ET
Half Sun: Saturday, July 12 at 8:22 PM ET
