(New York, NY) – Fourth of July barbecues will cost more in 2025. A typical cookout for 10 people is now $71.22—up 5% from last year and nearly 30% more than in 2019. The biggest price increases are for ground beef, pork chops, and lemonade. Beef prices are rising due to low cattle supplies, and lemonade costs more because of a citrus problem — as well as higher sugar prices.
On the bright side, some foods including chicken, potatoes, and potato salad are cheaper this year. To save money, try swapping beef for chicken, buy drinks in larger bottles, cook at home, and look for store deals. Expect to pay around $3-4 more per person than last year.
