(Albany, NY) – Avi Small, press secretary to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, has resigned amid allegations of sexual harassment and creating a toxic workplace, following a complaint made by a female staff member. The alleged incident occurred during a June 16 staff gathering at McGeary’s Pub in Albany.
The governor’s office confirmed Small had been placed on administrative leave effective as of June 25, pending an internal investigation. In a statement, the administration reiterated its “zero tolerance” policy for misconduct.
The situation is a credibility test for Hochul, who took office pledging workplace reform after Andrew Cuomo’s resignation over similar allegations.
