(New York, NY) — A new Sienna College poll has some good and bad news for Upstate Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who is mulling over a run for Governor next year. The Republican would easily beat back the other Republican thinking about running for the Empire State’s highest office. In a hypothetical match-up with Hudson Valley Congressman Mike Lawler, Stefanik leads 44-24%. The poll finds Stefanik with even a bigger lead over Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who is thinking about mounting a campaign. The 40-year-old would beat Blakeman, 44% to 19% in the Sienna College survey.
The Sienna poll finds Governor Hochul easily beating the fellow Democrats who are expected to run against her. She has huge leads over her Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado ( 49%-12%) and Congressman Ritchie Torres (49%-10%),
If the race ends with Congresswoman Stefanik taking on Governor Hochul, the polls finds the Governor easily walking away with the race, 47%-24%. The Sienna College poll was conducted from June 23rd to June 26th. 800 registered voters took part in the survey.
