(Boston, MA) — Vice President J.D. Vance is the clear leader among a list of possible GOP candidates for the White House in 2028. A new Emerson College poll finds Vance with 46 percent support of Republican voters, followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio with 12 percent and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at nine percent. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kristi Noem and Nikki Haley also make the list. Vance has grown his support since the November election, when exit polling showed him at 30 percent.

The race for the Democratic nomination for President would be closer if it were held today. No one has formally announced. The same Emerson College survey finds the former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg the favorite of Democratic voters at 16%. Vice President Kamala Harris is at  12%, California Governor Gavin Newsom, 7% and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez  both at  5%. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker also make the list. Twenty-three percent are undecided.
