(New York, NY) – Would New York City mayoral candidate step aside and leave the race for some cash? For sure, he wouldn’t do it for less than a dollar(s) — but rapper 50 Cent still hopes he can make it happen.
Mamdani — who looked to secure the Democratic nomination this week — has proposed a tax plan that includes a 2% income tax hike for individuals earning over $1 million annually. The socialist then referenced 50 Cent in his announcement.
“I know if 50 Cent is listening, he’s not going to be happy about this. He tends to not like this tax policy, but I want to be very clear — this is about $20,000 a year,” Mamdani said.
In response, rapper 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) posted on Instagram saying he will pay to get rid of him.
“…I’m not feeling this plan…I will give him $246,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY,” 50 Cent wrote.
Mamdani hasn’t responded publicly.
