(New York, NY) — The New York City Parks Department is celebrating the start of the pool season.
They’re kicking things off at a new huge pool located at the northern end of Central park after years of work. It’s one of the largest public pools in New York City part of the new 160-million-dollar Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, accommodating more than one-thousand swimmers.
With New York City public schools letting out Thursday (June 26, 2025) for summer, lifeguards will be available for outdoor public pools to open citywide Friday, June 27th through Sunday, September 7th. Pool hours are from 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. daily, with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
