(Staten Island, NY) – It’s always intense when the cops and firefighters get together on the field of competition. While they stand in solidarity as brothers and sisters in service of New York City — on the athletic field? It’s all bets off.
Buy your tickets to our family fun day softball showdown, coming up on July 20th!
On Sunday, July 20th, at the home of the Staten Island FerryHawks, the New York City Police Department and New York City Fire Department will face off in a softball showdown. All net proceeds benefit Shriners Children’s.
The doors will open at 9:30 AM that morning — and the game will be called by longtime Yankees’ voice John Sterling — who now hosts a Sunday show on 77 WABC.
It’s a family fun day, with contests and cash prizes. If you’re over the age of 18, hit it out of the park with our home run derby — first place wins $1,000. There’s also a fastest pitch contest and a kids zone.
Special guests include Mets and Yankees star pitcher Dwight “Doc” Gooden, 1969 Mets World Series Champion Art Shamsky, and 77 WABC hosts Sid Rosenberg, Anthony Cumia, Dominic Carter, and Lionel.
We’d love to see you at the game! If you can’t make it, you can also make a donation to benefit Shriners Children’s. Buy your tickets here!
