(New York, NY) — Noam Laden says he’s lucky to be alive. The WABC Radio newsman was involved in a car accident while driving with his wife in Goshen New York on the afternoon of June 20th. He was in the passenger seat, and was sleeping when the accident occurred, so he doesn’t remember what happened.
What he does know is that his seatbelt saved his life. He’s convinced that if he wasn’t wearing it, he would have gone through the front windshield. Noam and his wife got bruised up a bit and are sore, but the good news is, they’re okay.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2017, seat belts prevented almost 15-thousand deaths among vehicle passengers ages 5 and older. In addition, in 2023, almost 24-thousand vehicle passengers were killed and nearly 50-percent of those were not buckled in.
