(Chicago, Illinois) – R&B singer R. Kelly was hospitalized after allegedly overdosing while in prison. Kelly was sentenced to 31 years in prison in 2023 after being convicted of racketeering, sex trafficking, child pornography, and enticement of minors.
Doctors discovered Kelly suffering from life-threatening blood clots, but he was allegedly sent back to solitary without receiving medical treatment. Now, his legal team is asking for him to be moved to home confinement, claiming prison officials gave in the medication in an attempt to kill him.
Prosecutors do not believe the claims are legitimate, and have no plans to release him.
