(New York, NY) — New York City Mayor Eric Adams is calling for a ban on face coverings during protests following Saturday’s large No Kings Day demonstrations in New York City.
A new state law makes it illegal to wear a mask with the intent to avoid identification or arrest while committing a crime or fleeing the scene. Adams, however, says the law doesn’t go far enough to discourage disorderly conduct from people hiding their faces during demonstrations.
He says there were a number of outside agitators at the protests wearing masks on Saturday (June 14, 2025).
