(New York, NY) – Amid the renewed and escalating tension in the Middle East, New York City cops remain on guard at home. Dating back to the October 7, 2023 attacks, anti-Semitic incidents have been on the rise — and following recent attacks of that nature, as well as the war between Israel and Iran, extrsa pracautions are ebign tken.
The NYPD says it has increased security at Jewish and Israeli sites after Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. Iran launched retaliatory strikes, and the situation continues to develop.
Department officials say cops remain cautious while working with federal partners to monitor for any potential threats.
