(New York, NY) – Americans upset with President Trump, and his policies will take part Saturday in what they are calling “No Kings Day” protests across the Tri-State and around the country. Organizers say President Trump is not a king and, they say they are rejecting his bid to inject authoritarianism into the White House.
Organizers says they choose to hold the rally on the same day President Trump is holding his big military parade in Washington D.C. Trump’s parade through the streets of D.C. is being held on his 79th birthday.
The leaders of the protests are pleading with demonstrators to be peaceful. They claim there will be 1800 rallies all across the country. One of the biggest ones will be in Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan. The NYPD says it’s ready for the crowds.
There are dozens of demonstrations scheduled throughout the entire Garden State from places like Paramus and Morristown, to along the Jersey Shore and down to Atlantic City and Cape May.
In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has brought in the Texas National Guard ahead of protests there.
