(Newark, NJ) — The union representing New Jersey Transit’s locomotive engineers has now ratified the agreement that ended a three-day strike last month.
The union’s membership overwhelmingly voting in favor of the agreement, 398 to 21. The contract now faces one last step, that is likely a formality; being voted on and approved by NJ Transit’s board at next month’s meeting.
NJ Transit’s President says the contract represents a fair and fiscally responsible agreement between the two sides. The contract retroactively goes back to 2020, and will expire in 2028.
