(New York, NY) – Police are looking for a moped rider who swiped a chain from a five-year-old boy’s neck in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon. The boy was playing on the sidewalk near Marion Avenue and 193rd Street. Surveillance footage shows the thief yanking the necklace, the force even lifting the child off the ground.
The little boy was treated on-site for bruises and swelling. The necklace had sentimental value to the family, and the father told reporters he’s devastated.
Cops say the thief was wearing a mask and a jacket with white-stripes on the shoulders. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
