(New York, NY) — New York City officials are opening up a much improved public space on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge known as “The Arches.”
The phased re-opening of “The Arches” began in 2023 but now more than two acres of new public space has been added to the more than one acre previously opened. This includes access to space under the Brooklyn Bridge’s dramatic vaulted archways which is part of the National Historic Landmark.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams also announced a 50 million dollar investment to keep improving and maintaining the space. Co-Founder of Gotham Park Rosa Chang says her organization will help maintain the area
