(Bronx, NY) – A warrant is out for the arrest of a city-funded babysitter who was allegedly caught on camera abusing three young boys in her care.
The babysitter, La’Keysha Jackson, was employed through a city-run program that aims to support struggling families. She had been caring for the children for about a year.
The boys’ grandmother became suspicious after she checked the live feed and saw the children sleeping at an unusual time. She then reviewed the home’s security system. The video reportedly shows Jackson hitting the boys with a belt and using costumes to scare them.
The family filed a police report on May 8, and an arrest warrant was issued on May 12. Police attempted to arrest Jackson, but she was not at her home. Authorities are actively searching for her. Meanwhile, the city’s Administration for Children’s Services and the contractor, Selfhelp, have terminated her employment.
