(East Rutherford, NJ) – With the FIFA World Cup coming to town in 2026, this summer is all about preparation. MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands is one of the sites where games will be played — and soccer fans from all over the world will be in town to see the event. But given the drones we saw flying over the skies of New Jersey (and elsewhere in the US) — drones themselves are seen as a major potential threat/concern during the World Cup.
Bo Dietl, a podcaster with 77 WABC’s parent network (Red Apple Podcasts) joined an event at MetLife Stadium where authorities showed off technology that can help down drones when needed.
