(New York, NY) – New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ administration points to data showing trash containerization is working with fewer rat sightings in New York City.
Acting Sanitation Commissioner Javier Lojan says since residential container requirements first went into effect six months ago, the number of reported rat sightings has dropped.
The Department of Sanitation just finished installing trash bins across West Harlem becoming the first neighborhood in North America to have all of its trash fully containerized according to the Adams administration, with plans to expand to other parts of the city.
