(New York, NY) — Andy Byford, the former MTA New York City Transit boss, or who was affectionaely known as “Train Daddy,” is coming back to New York City. He’s been selected by the Trump administration to oversee the reconstruction of Penn Station.
Byford says he’s “happy to be back in New York City” and “this is where the action is.” Byford got his nickname for improving subway service while he was here. He led New York City Transit for two years before resigning in 2020, after reported disagreements with then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
