(New York, NY) — Long Island’s Ralph Macchio is returning to the Karate Kid movie franchise with “Karate Kid:Legends.” Macchio, who grew up in Huntington and still lives on Long Island with his family, says it’s been a joy to be back up on the big screen with the new karate kid.
While the movie is set in New York City, the script was written on Long Island. Screenwriter Rob Lieber said he wrote the script in Port Jefferson and in coffee shops all over Long Island. He added that he grew up watching “The Karate Kid” and it was a thrill to be able to write the new movie.
