A new report from Oxford Economics says spending by foreign visitors is expected to fall by eight-and-a-half-billion dollars this year. Researchers say tourists are avoiding the U.S. as a destination partly because of the Trump administration’s trade and immigration policies.
Other financial experts are predicting an even greater loss. The World Travel & Tourism Council said this month it expects the U.S. tourism industry to lose over 12-billion dollars this year, which it warns will negatively impact “communities, jobs, and businesses from coast to coast.”
