(New York, NY) — Companies that manufacture ultra-processed food are taking some heat from the public and a recent lawsuit. A federal lawsuit claims that companies are using the same methods that Big Tobacco used to get people hooked on their foods.
Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, the director of the Food is Medicine Institute at Tufts University, tells the Today Show that, “it really was making our foods as addictive as possible. Starting with our children.” Experts believe there’s room for healthy change, especially when it comes to ultra processed foods.
