(Brooklyn, NY) — There’s a new push to bring New York City ferry service to the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.
Local leaders, like Brooklyn Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse, say Canarsie’s 91-thousand tax-paying residents deserve a ferry stop. Narcisse says they’ve got six-thousand signatures on a petition demanding ferry service. She’s also accusing Mayor Adams of making a commitment to put in a Canarsie stop but failing to deliver.
At this point, a spokesman for the Mayor says there’s no plan for ferries to pick up passengers in Canarsie. Narcisse says says it’s time for Canarsie residents to get a break.
