(New York, NY) — Giant naval ships have arrived along the Hudson River as the annual Fleet Week kicks off in New York City.
The USS New York is one of several of the military ships that will be docked and open for free public tours for Fleet Week and can be found at Pier 88. Roughly 13-hundred Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Marines are in New York and involved in military demonstrations, performances and competitions as part of Fleet Week.
The Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum on Manhattan’s West Side will be hosting numerous Fleet Week activities including a free movie night (featuring “Top Gun”) on the flight deck and a Memorial Day Ceremony. New Yorkers will be able to interact with members of the Marines, Navy and Coast Guard.
