(New York, NY) — Billy Joel is cancelling upcoming concerts due to a brain disorder.
The “Piano Man” posted that he will be calling off all scheduled concerts, including his shows at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field this summer, following his recent diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus or NPH.
The 76-year-old singer posted to Instagram saying the condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with his hearing, vision and balance. He’s undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised by his doctor to refrain from performing during his recovery.
He apologized to fans and thanked them for understanding. Ticket refunds to upcoming shows will be automatically processed back to the original payment used for purchase.
