NBA: Playoffs-Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks
(New York, NY) — The Indiana Pacers stormed back from a 17 point deficit in the 4th quarter, to beat the Knicks 138-135 in overtime, in Game One of the Eastern Conference finals at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. Tyrese Haliburton drained a game-tying buzzer beater at the end of regulation to send the game to OT. The Pacers were unstoppable from there. The two teams will face-off at the Garden for Game Two on Friday night.
The Knicks postseason may be a major win for New York City even though the team trails the Indiana Pacers. Mayor Adams says the Knicks’ playoff home games have the potential to generate more than 830-million-dollars in economic activity for all five boroughs. The Knicks have already generated 192-million-dollars this postseason and each playoff game at home is expected to bring in another 91-million-dollars for New York City. The city’s projection accounts for direct impacts of visitor spending, including tickets, merchandise, hotel stays, and transportation.
