(New Brunswick, NJ) — Rutgers University has a new President. William Tate IV, the current President of Louisiana State University, has been named to the role.
He’ll earn base pay of one-point-one-million dollars a year when he takes the helm on July 1st, plus a lot more in perks and incentive pay, making Tate the Scarlet Knights’ highest paid president in the New Jersey state school’s history.
He’ll take over from Jonathan Hollaway who was making 919-thousand-dollars in base pay after five years on the job. Governor Phil Murphy was also up for the position, and would have taken over when his gubernatorial term ended.
