Brooklyn Bridge is Safe

syndication-stockton-record-21

New York City officials are assisting the NTSB in their investigation into Saturday’s deadly ship crash into the Brooklyn Bridge. While the NTSB investigates the Mexican Navy ship, which remains docked off lower Manhattan, the FDNY is using drones to examine the bridge, which didn’t sustain structural damage. Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry reiterates that the Brooklyn Bridge is safe.

Chief Mike Meyers adds their job is to also protect the people of New York. The NTSB says a preliminary report will be released within 30 days. A full report will take at least a year.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry says most of the sailors have returned to Mexico but about 80 will remain to fix the ship. It is believed a mechanical issue caused the ship to slam into the bridge, killing two cadets.
