syndication-the-record-276

(New York, NY) — The NYPD says there’s currently no credible threats to the Israel Day on Fifth Avenue parade, which is set to step off Sunday, May 18th and runs from 11:30am to 4pm between 62nd and 74th St. on Fifth Ave.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch says several street closures are in effect ahead of the parade, with spectators instructed to enter the parade route at designated security checkpoints. Attendees will not be allowed to bring large backpacks, umbrellas, picnic baskets, drones , folding chairs or anything else that may impede someone’s view of the celebration.

Jewish Community Relations Council CEO Mark Treyger says it’s the second parade since the October 7th attacks, and thanks the NYPD for coordinating a multi-agency effort to keep everyone safe.
