(Newark, NJ) — President Trump’s acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba says Newark Mayor Ras Baraka committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings to leave an immigration detention center this afternoon and has been arrested. There was some pushing and shoving and reports of some being assaulted.
Democratic Reps Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez Jr., and LaMonica McIver were also involved in the incident at Delaney Hall. Watson claims the Trump Administration is acting like a “dictatorship” in its pursuit to arrest immigrants in the country illegally.

A delegation of New Jersey Congress members say they were waiting to take part in an oversight meeting at the facility Friday, when Mayor Ras Baraka showed up and a group of armed ICE agents confronted him.
