The search continues today for a 29-year-old who is running for a seat on the Nassau County Legislature. Petros Krommidas was last seen last Wednesday in Baldwin. He is running for the legislature’s 4th District against Republican incumbent Patrick Mullaney. Nassau County Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs has released a statement, saying they are “heartbroken” and continue to keep Petros’ family in their prayers, but “remain hopeful for his safe return.”
Police say they have found Krommidas’ car near the Long Beach boardwalk and his clothing was discovered on the beach, but no sign of him. They do not suspect foul play.
Police describe Krommidas as 6 feet 2 inches, 230 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a camouflage print sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
