(Mineola, NY) — The identities of a Gilgo beach murder victim known as “Peaches” and her toddler daughter are being revealed.
Nassau County police announced Wednesday (April 23, 2025) that the victim they’ve referred to as Jane Doe Number Three was 26-year old Tanya Denise Jackson, an Army veteran originally from Alabama, and her daughter was 2-year old Tatiana Marie Dykes.
Tanya’s torso, which had a peach tattoo on it, was found inside a Rubbermaid container at Hempstead Lake State Park in Lakeview in 1997, while the remains of her daughter were found off Ocean Parkway in 2011.
Investigators say the killings fit the suspected Gilgo beach pattern but they haven’t been connected to alleged serial killer Rex Heuermann, who is charged in the deaths of seven women.
