NBA: Playoffs-Detroit Pistons at New York Knicks
(New York, NY) — One mayoral candidate says he will try to convince to Knicks to give away free playoff tickets to fans who cannot afford them. State Senator Zellnor Myrie, who is not polling well among the 8 Democrats running for Mayor, says the Philadelphia 76ers gave deserving fans tickets to playoff games last year. The Sixers handed out two thousand free playoff tickets to first responders during their series with the Knicks.
Myrie is calling on the Dolans, the Knicks owners to hand out one-thousand playoff tickets to working-class New Yorkers. He has not said which “working class,” New Yorkers would get the free passes to the games. Myrie was circulating an online petition promoting the idea on Twitter on Monday.
