(New York, NY) – Mayor Eric Adams continues to play the middle ground as an Independent candidate to spend another 4 years at Gracie Mansion. The city mayor appeared on My View with Lara Trump on Fox News. Adams spoke at length about the city’s immigration policies. He is applauding the work of the Trump White House bringing down federal immigration numbers. Adams also defended the sanctuary city policies in New York saying that keeping order is his number one priority. He said he cannot control who comes in and out of the country, but once they are in his city, he must do everything he can to avoid utter chaos.
Adams stressed there are no laws declaring any place a sanctuary city, but instead, it’s a concept on how to govern. He wants to see migrant kids in schools, and pointed out migrants themselves can be and have been victims of migrant crime, so he wants to encourage them not to fear law enforcement. Speaking of law enforcement, the mayor admonished those on the “far left” who label Immigration and Customs Enforcement a criminal organization.
