(New York, NY) — Luigi Mangione is now officially charged with murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Thompson was gunned down in broad daylight on December 4th, 2024 outside of a Manhattan Hilton. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, a federal jury in New York returned a four-count indictment against the 26-year-old Maryland man.
Mangione, who graduated from an exclusive Baltimore prep school and Ivy League college, UPenn, is charged with two counts of stalking, a firearms offense, and murder with a firearm. The last charge makes him eligible for the death penalty if convicted, something Attorney General Pam Bondi has already said she’ll seek.
