(Albany, NY) — The Trump Administration is reportedly accusing New York State Attorney General Letitia James of mortgage fraud. The New York Post obtained a letter the Federal Housing Finance Agency sent to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. The letter alleges James falsified records to get favorable home loans for a Virginia property she claimed was her principal residence in 2023, despite the law requiring her primary residence be in New York.

A spokesperson for James responded in part, saying James is focused on protecting New Yorkers, as the Trump administration weaponizes the federal government against the rule of law. James previously accused Trump in a lawsuit of overinflating values of his properties in order to get favorable loans.
