(New York, NY) – Smartphones and computers are going to be exempt from tariffs. U.S Customs and Border Patrol are explaining that the tech items will not fall under the umbrella of sweeping tariffs, a 10% standard global tariff and a 125% tariff on Chinese imports. The move comes after concerns from the tech sector and industry leaders regarding the possibility of skyrocketing prices for devices and parts. The exemptions also include a range of devices such as semi-conductors, solar cells and memory cards.
