Push For Action Following Helicopter Crash

syndication-usa-today-397

(New York, NY) – Lawmakers are pushing for action following a deadly helicopter crash on Thursday afternoon. A family of 5 and a pilot were killed as the chopper went down in the Hudson River. New York State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal has been leading efforts to limit helicopter traffic over the city. He’s trying to limit the choppers in the sky to first responders, news and necessary transportation. Hoylman-Sigal claims there is no reason to continue allowing these sightseeing helicopter tours compromising the safety of New Yorkers both in the air and on the ground. Including the victims in the latest incident, 25 people have been killed in sightseeing helicopter accidents in the city over the past 40 years.
