NTSB Briefs on Chopper Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has held its initial briefing, after yesterday’s Hudson river helicopter crash that killed six people.
NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy made it clear from the start: the investigation is just getting underway, and definitive findings are a ways off, perhaps quite a ways off. She says evidence is being gathered, and says at this point, investigators are presented with an array of possibilities. She says nothing is off the table. The crash that killed a family of five visiting from Spain and the pilot, was operated by New York Helicopter Tours, which saw one if its choppers end up in the water in 2013; another experienced a hard landing in 2015.
