(Riverhead, NY) – The public is getting a chance to name some furry friends at the Long Island Aquarium. Two pairs of otters, two girls and two boys, are already making waves after being born to their Riverhead habitat in February. The pups have opened their eyes and according to the aquarium marketing director they look like little “lumps of cuteness” or similar to puppies. The name choices for the two girl otters are Cherry, Fig, Kiwi, and Peach in honor of their late grandmother, Jelly. For the boys, as a nod to their grandpa Peanut Butter – the names are between Cashew, Pecan, Pistachio, and Walnut. Voting is live on the aquarium website. The winners will be announced on Mother’s Day.
