Members of Congress Aboard New York Flight Clipped on Ground in DC
Several members of congress from the New York area were on a plane getting ready to leave D-C for JFK today, when their plane’s wing, was clipped by another jet. At least five members of congress from the New York area were on American airlines flight 4522, when it was struck, on the taxi-way, by American flight 5490, bound for Charleston. No great collision on the ground; rather the Charleston plane clipped the wing of the New York bound flight. Nobody got hurt; the JFK bound flight headed back to the gate. On board were New York Republican Nick Lalota, New York Democrat Grace Meng, New Jersey Democrat Josh Gottheimer, New York Democrat Richie Torres and Harlem Democrat Gregory Meeks. Gottheimer posting: quote, “thankfully, everyone is safe. Just a reminder: Recent cuts to the FAA weaken our skies and public safety.”
