News: King Charles Coronation
(Undated) — King Charles the Third and Queen Camilla are celebrating 20 years of marriage. The reigning U.K. monarch met Camilla back in the 1970s. The two wouldn’t tie the knot until well after then-Prince Charles divorced his first wife, the late Princess Diana. He’d admitted to being unfaithful to her in a 1994 interview.
Once Charles and Camilla got married on April 9th, 2005 in a civil ceremony, Camilla took on the title of Duchess of Cornwall rather than Princess of Wales, out of respect for Diana. She only assumed the title of queen with the blessing of Queen Elizabeth prior to her death in 2022. This week, the royal couple celebrated with a set of portraits taken in Rome, where they are on a four-day state visit.
