(New York, NY) — Sixteen people are being charged in a major New York City murder conspiracy takedown.
Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, Mayor Eric Adams and Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced the indictments on Tuesday, saying the defendants were responsible for 21 shootings from March to September 2024.
They said the defendants were in rival gangs operating out of the Lehman and Johnson Houses and committed 50-percent of the shootings in that six-month period in the NYPD’s 23rd precinct in East Harlem. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg says 13 of the defendants are under age 18.
