No More Dry Summer

(New York, NY) – Both restaurant owners and customers have something to cheer about following new rules from the city. New York restaurants with conditional outdoor dining approvals will be able to get liquor licenses. Originally, eateries were required to have an outdoor dining permit before they could apply for a license with the State Liquor Authority. Only 7 out of 3000 applicants were lucky enough to secure an outdoor license. Now, businesses on the city’s back log with conditional approval can begin working with the state to serve up booze to customers outside. Outdoor dining took off during COVID but was largely unregulated. This summer the DOT has new rules for restaurants under their “Dining Out NYC” program.
