(Garden City, NY) – You don’t have to get on any rocket ship or squint through a telescope to get a good look at this lunar model. At the cathedral of the sacred incarnation in Garden City, you can see the 20 – foot replica of the moon from UK artist Luke Jerram.

The art exhibit is based on NASA imaging and is on display starting April 11th through May 4th. Long Island locals at Bethpage-based Grumman Aircraft played a big role in making the lunar module that helped astronauts with Apollo 16 land on the moon’s surface. There’s several events planned around the exhibit including yoga, a performance from a Pink Floyd tribute band and a beer tasting. You can find out more about the “Moon as Sacred Mirror” on the church’s website.
