(New York, NY) — With one in three homes having a pet cat, why isn’t there more information available on cat health? According to the New York Times, many details of feline health are still a mystery, even to the experts in veterinarian medicine. It appears that feline medicine has taken a back seat to the health of dogs. According to one pet specialist, cat health is still considered ” a bit of a niche interest.” One reason may be that dogs seem to go to the vet more often, so more effort has been put on the health of dogs.
The good news is that vet schools are putting more money into studying cat health. In addition, more scientists are studying the causes of cat diseases.
