(New York, NY) — Legendary boxer George Foreman passed away on Friday at age 76, surrounded by loved ones in Houston Texas. No cause of death was provided, and the family has asked for privacy.
Foreman was a two-time heavyweight champion and gold medal Olympian, who took part in two of the most infamous boxing matches of all time. “The Fight of the Century” against Joe Frazier in 1971, and “The Rumble in the Jungle” against Muhammad Ali in 1974.

In their statement, his family said Foreman “lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.” They added that outside of the ring, Foreman was “a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name, for his family.”
