(San Jose, CA) — Tesla vandalism is on the rise. Surveillance footage at a Tesla Collision Center this week in Las Vegas shows someone dressed in black damaging at least five Tesla vehicles, two of which were set on fire.
The word “resist” was painted on the building in Las Vegas. Police in California say they arrested a man wearing an American flag jacket who was seen allegedly keying a Tesla in a South San Jose Costco parking lot. Police arrested that suspect and urged respect for the law. Vehicle fires at a Tesla dealership in Kansas City are also under investigation as possibly arson.
Tesla owners are expressing concerns after discovering an online map, with a Molotov cocktail image as the cursor, sharing their personal information. Launched on Monday, the map lists the names and details of Tesla owners, dealerships, and Trump administration members. The site encourages vandalism, suggesting people spray-paint Teslas to “unleash” their “artistic flair.” Musk condemned the website on X, calling the promotion of vandalism “extreme domestic terrorism.” There have been at least 16 reports of vandalism against Tesla dealerships and vehicles.
